Q: My property tax bill is too high! What can I do to lower it?

A: There are two ways to attempt to lower your property tax bill. The first is through a property tax appeal, where you appeal the assessed value of the home. The second is to ensure you receive all the property tax exemptions for which you qualify. If you are not receiving all of the property tax exemptions, you should file Certificates of Error for the years you did not receive the exemption and apply for the exemption to ensure you receive it moving forward. Some exceptions need to be renewed each year.
